![]() ![]() Small museum in historic section of Corning. It was an inexpensive and highly informative trip that we'd love to take again. Towards the end of the tour, a slew of postcards were made available for a small donation. We were pleased to find the gift shop not only carried the usual souvenirs but tin signs and historical books as well. Everything was labelled with large posted readings. ![]() #Pull the pin lancaster movie#A small movie theatre paid tribute by film and various television sets shared video of the history of airplanes, etc. The airplanes, motorcycles, motorcars, family heirlooms, boats, cars, trucks, jeeps and machines in pristine shape made a big impression housed in that space. So much of what he began is still used today in some form, as he paved the way for further engineering. Curtiss had put into flight and/or motion. I was in awe of the original biplanes, bicycles, engines and motor cars, as well as the replicas of what Glenn H. The age of invention was huge, and prior to touring the museum I'd had no idea what an impact this one individual had on it. ![]() Seeing memorabilia encased behind glass or engines and moving parts on grand display transported us to simpler times. The structures outside of the facility, like war plane, railcar, statues, easily draw visitors into the experience of learning about the man who pretty much engineered anything mechanically or manually moveable from the early 1900's until his death. Any wine tour of the FLs should absolutely start at Dr. The fact that this winery also happens to reside in the heart of one of the most beautiful and unique regions in the country is just icing on the cake. It was clear he was doing it not just because be felt it was good business and service, rather that it was out of genuine caring. Instead, he not only greeted us, but also came back to our table later on to make sure we were enjoying the experience. Perfect example: at 1030 in the morning on a cold winter day, where he was clearly busy working in the winery, it would have been easy for a member of ownership to simply mind his own business and go about his day. A really bright wine with a great depth of flavor and an excellent finish.Īgain, there is nothing about HJW that is not top notch. But their 2019 Flower Day (biodynamic, though not yet officially certified as so) was really the star of the show. In case you're not yet noticing, 2020 was a good year. Their 2020 Dry Riesling was elevated, as well. Their 2020 Cab Franc was the first red that just absolutely blew me away. Their biodiverse (ask them about it) wines are second to none in the Finger Lakes, and right up there with anything in the world - Old or New. They are the perfect representation of what wine will and should look like in the 21st century. Our server (I believe it was Juan) was clearly passionate about the wine, and did a phenomenal job of creating the same passion within us as we tasted them. Everything (everything!) - from the winery itself, to the service, on down to the wine - is world class. I don't know that it is even possible to heap more praise upon HJW. I’ve been reaching out for a month now to be contacted by management and they have yet to respond. The ski patrol member also mentioned my health insurance status to people not involved in the situation. As soon as I mentioned that the company’s rental equipment was defected and caused my injury, the ski patrol started arguing with me - while I was in shock and pain - saying there’s no possible way their equipment could have caused an issue, and that I must be remembering wrong despite a witness there who saw the incident agreeing with me. I had an incident occur while skiing there, and the ski patrol crew responded awfully. BY THE WAY, no review was done into their ski rental equipment - no investigation to ensure the safety of future riders. Horrible, embarrassing response and I will be going to SWAIN SKI RESORT from now on, as their reviews are much higher and customer service has been impeccable. They handled the situation as ill-professionally as possible, did not apologize, offer any sort of compensation, and left the conversation saying, "if no one gets back to you, we'll see you next year". EDIT MAY 2022: I have since been reached out to by upper management. ![]()
